March on Washington: 50 Years: DC Public LIbrary Events
Aug. 28, 2013 will mark the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington in Washington, D.C. This event, where Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech, played a major role in galvanizing national support for the Civil Rights Movement. In the lead-up to the anniversary of this event, the Washingtoniana Division is collecting stories from attendees for our Oral History Research Center collection.
We are also celebrating the anniversary with events at DC Public Library locations.
