“Longest Reading Aloud Marathon by a Team” while reading the 30 Articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, repeatedly

Miami, November 16, 2009 - At exactly 6 p.m. on November 12, 2009, six women set a new Guinness World Record™ for “Longest Reading Aloud Marathon by a Team” while reading the 30 Articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, repeatedly for more than 224 hours at Miami Dade College’s InterAmerican Campus in Little Havana.

The stalwart women are from the International Solidarity for Human Rights organization. During the ten day effort, hundreds of community leaders, faculty, staff and students visited the women and encouraged them with many placing the flags of their countries of birth on the backdrop behind the table where they read.
